Your paying to much, maybe not for Killington, but def for Jay. I am going to Jay next week for day tens with a ski on/off condo with all the amenities for something like $375. Book now, but look for another deal.

I rarely ever stay on-property. $1000/day in late March VT is WAY too much money, even if you are getting lodging, passes, and 3 meals a day for 2 people. Jay is $62/person mid-week. I wouldn’t pay more than $354 per 2 persons a day RIGHT NOW, let alone in late March.
As a person who spent 6 years living in Vermont my sympathies lie with the local innkeepers and restaurant owners who rely on tourism to put bread on their table 365/days a year. I take seriously into consideration the resorts I spend my money at. Those who import a lot of workers and still charge high prices are less prone to get more of my money. When my money spent in VT goes to pay the salaries of corporate overhead types in Colorado or gets shipped back to Bulgaria I feel as though I’m shorting the locals. Many of these locals are my friends and ex-neighbors with whom I used to do business. Eventually my own dollars would come back to me, and I suppose mine is a hard habit to break.
Regardless of my soapbox preaching, I say shop around and find a better deal. If you want all the amenities like a condo with a hot-tub and full maid service, then you’ll pay out the wazoo. If you want to ski, meet interesting people, and eat well then stay off-property and trim down your amenities…after all, it’s about the skiing.
